The Vibration of Your Vocabulary

For much of my life, I was unaware of the immense power of the words I chose to create my reality. It wasn’t until I began to explore energy that I realized something profound: the words we speak—to ourselves and others—carry vibrations that shape our lives.

When I look back on the more challenging periods of my life, I can now see how the conversations I had—with myself, with friends, with family—often made those situations worse. My words carried judgment, frustration, and negativity, and they reverberated through my energy body, affecting not only me but those around me.

Now, I am much more conscientious about how I speak and the vibrations I bring into the world. I’ve learned to be curious rather than judgmental because I’ve come to understand a fundamental truth: what we say about others affects us, and what we say about ourselves affects others.

We are all connected through an infinite energetic field. Words, like ripples on water, travel outward and impact everything in their path. When you walk into a room, you can feel the energy present—whether it’s uplifting and warm or heavy and low. The energy you carry and the words you choose contribute to this shared field. Imagine if we all became intentional about the energy we bring into every space.

Building Your Energy Field Through Words

Many of us have been taught to protect ourselves from others’ energy, but I’ve discovered that the real magic lies in building up your own energy field. The more you nurture your energy and consciously choose the vibrations you live in, the more resilient and expansive your field becomes. Words are a key part of this process. The vibration of your vocabulary impacts not only your energy but also the energy of those around you.

Consider this: if you worry that someone else’s low energy will affect you, that very worry contributes to the likelihood of it happening. But when you focus on building your energy—choosing empowering, uplifting words—you create a force field that radiates positivity. You become the one who uplifts others rather than the one who needs protection.

The Map of Consciousness and the Energy of Words

One of the most fascinating tools I’ve come across is the Map of Consciousness from the book Power vs. Force by David Hawkins. Hawkins measured the energetic vibration of emotions and words, creating a scale that ranges from the low vibration of shame (20) to the high vibration of love (500) and beyond.

Here are a few examples:

  • Shame vibrates at 20, one of the lowest levels, and feels like being stuck in darkness.

  • Guilt is slightly higher at 30 but still heavy and constricting.

  • Fear vibrates at 100, often creating a sense of paralysis.

  • Courage vibrates at 200 and marks a turning point where energy begins to shift upward.

  • Love, my favourite, vibrates at 500 and is transformative, expansive, and healing.

Our words align us with these vibrational levels. If we consistently use words that carry lower vibrations, we anchor ourselves in those energies. But by choosing words that align with courage, love, or joy, we elevate our vibration and contribute to a higher-frequency world.

Shifting from Judgment to Curiosity

One of the most significant shifts I’ve made is moving from judgment to curiosity. Judgment lowers my energy and creates separation, while curiosity invites connection and exploration. For example, rather than protesting against what I don’t want, I now take a stand for what I do want. This subtle yet powerful shift changes the energy of my words and actions, allowing me to align with solutions rather than problems.

Practical Ways to Elevate Your Vocabulary

Here are some simple steps to begin elevating the vibration of your vocabulary:

  1. Speak to Yourself with Kindness We are often hardest on ourselves. Notice how you talk to yourself and replace harsh, self-critical words with ones that are nurturing and supportive.

  2. Choose Words of Possibility Instead of focusing on what you don’t want, speak about what you do want.

  3. Celebrate High-Vibration Words Words like “Enthusiasm,” “Brilliant,” “Inspiring,” and “Curious” carry uplifting energy. Use them often and notice how they feel in your body.

  4. Shift Your Conversations Surround yourself with people who uplift you and engage in conversations that inspire possibility and joy. When negativity arises, gently redirect the focus to something constructive.

  5. Breathe and Reset When emotions like anger or anxiety arise, pause and focus on your breath. Exhale deeply to release stagnant energy, then inhale words or thoughts that feel expansive and supportive.

Creating a World of Higher Vibrations

As we consciously choose words that uplift and inspire, we contribute to a collective energy shift. Each high-vibration word we speak ripples outward, creating a world that is safer, more loving, and more aligned with our highest potential.

What words will you choose today? Will you stand for love, courage, and curiosity? Let’s create a vocabulary that resonates with the highest vibrations of who we are. Together, we can craft a world filled with joy, connection, and limitless possibility. I would love to hear your stories about your favourite words!
